Position Summary:
The Benefits Manager designs, implements, oversees, and administers of all company wellness, insurance, and retirement programs. This role ensures accurate enrollment, regulatory compliance, effective employee service, and competitive plan offerings. Provides recommendations and guidance on benefit eligibility, coverage, claims, plan provisions, and related policies while collaborating with employees, managers, brokers, carriers, and vendors. Analyses employee benefits data and creates metrics to support strategic policy and program decisions. Specific Responsibilities:
  • Manage operations of wellness programs, health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement savings plans
  • Research and evaluate benefit plan offerings, utilization trends, claims data, budget impacts, market practices, and regulatory changes
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and coordinate contracts with insurance brokers, third-party administrators, and service providers
  • Recommend plan improvements, cost-sharing approaches, carrier options, and benefit solutions that support organizational goals and employee needs
  • Participate in wellness program initiatives, partner with HR on retention, and support total reward projects
  • Serve as an escalation point to resolve complex claims issues, answer policy and plan questions, advise employees on benefit eligibility, coverage, policies, and procedures
  • Lead annual open enrollment cycles, update system configurations, and organize staff informational sessions
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies with carriers, brokers, vendors, and internal systems
  • Maintain complete adherence to compliance obligations and required reporting, audits, federal and state regulations, including ACA, ERISA, and COBRA guidelines
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant benefits experience may be considered
  • 7+ years of experience in benefits administration, plan and programs implementing plan, and cost improvement
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) highly preferred
  • Strong organizational, logical reasoning, and detail-oriented capabilities
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong proficiency with HRIS platforms and advanced data analytics/spreadsheet tools
  • Deep knowledge of benefits regulations, compliance processes, filing requirements, and confidentiality practices
  • Ability to partner effectively with employees, managers, brokers, carriers, vendors, and clients
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
