The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Civil Rights Office is looking for a Civil Rights Program and Compliance Specialist 1 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:

This position assists with the implementation of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Support Services and On-the-Job Training (OJT) Services Programs for Alaska. The incumbent provides a high degree of outreach administrative support, event planning and marketing in support of these programs. The working environment you can expect: This position is located at 2200 East 42nd Avenue in the Annex Building in Anchorage. The building is located at the intersection of Lake Otis & Tudor. It is a shared office with another member of the Civil Rights Office team. Work is primarily conducted in an office setting at a computer or collaborating with others.

Research:

Knowledge of the scientific principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry; including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of results.

Contracting/Procurement :

Knowledge of various types of contracts, techniques, or requirements (for example, Federal Acquisitions Regulations) for contracting or procurement, and contract negotiation and administration. equivalent to those typically gained by: professional experience monitoring contractor activities and administering construction contracts to ensure compliance with laws and regulations such as Affirmative Action, Equal Employment, Opportunity, and nondiscrimination.
