Job Description

Nature of Position The Alameda City Attorney's Office is seeking an administrative professional to join its team . This professional is expected to have a wide range of duties, including directly supporting the City Attorney. A qualified professional may have prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, executive assistant, or law office administrator. It is expected that this professional will: Provide day-to-day executive assistance to the City Attorney's Prosecution division; Manage general office administration, which includes: process reimbursements, interdepartmental record-keeping, and compliance; Support attorneys in the office by handling civil and criminal court filings, tracking cases, and managing discovery; Handle other matters as assigned. The successful applicant will have strong communication and advocacy skills, as well as a demonstrated commitment to advancing the public interest. The selected professional is expected to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Distinguishing Features This is a part time opportunity. Part time positions in the City of Alameda have limited benefits.

Paid Sick Leave:
Part time employees accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. Optional enrollment in Deferred Compensation, aka, 457. Optional enrollment in Transportation Saving Account. Employment Standards Prior experience in legal field desired, but not required. Selected employee will typically be scheduled for no more than 28 hours per week.
