Human Resources Assistant/Employee Relations Reports to

Employee Development and Success Manager and HR Coordinator Background :

Cahaba Medical Care Foundation is a community health center providing medical, pharmacy, dental, and behavioral health services to diverse underserved communities in Alabama. We are a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home and Joint Commission accredited organization, committed to increasing integration and coordination of behavioral health and primary care. This is an exciting, fast-paced practice with a strong mission and commitment to providing high-quality care.

Purpose :

CMCF is in need of a Human Resources Assistant to support the Employee Development and Success Manager and HR Team with a wide range of HR related tasks and issues. This individual will have independent responsibility for daily HR tasks and assignments directed by HR management

Responsibilities and Duties:

Exemplify and model the C4s and Difficult Dialogue / Crucial Accountability Punctual and regular attendance at the office during scheduled hours. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices. Collaborate with Employee Development and Success Manager to address performance-related issues and develop appropriate corrective action and/or performance improvement plans. Mediate and facilitate discussions between employees and management to resolve conflicts and promote effective communication. Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify potential areas of concern and recommend improvements. Organizing, maintaining, and filing paper and digital files and records Preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations Assists with other overflow work as directed by the HR Coordinator and Employee Development and Success Manager. Assisting with managing numerous spreadsheets Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining the employee database and sorting emails for the HR department Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves Assist the HR Director in policy formulation, hiring, and salary administration Assist with online job postings, shortlist candidates, and schedule job interviews Assist with orientation and training sessions for new employees Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution of their queries Provide administrative support to our entire HR department Serve as a reliable source of information for employees, promptly answering questions regarding payroll and benefits Assist with recruiting tasks such as reviewing resumes, conducting and scheduling interviews, hiring, and following up with candidates Schedule and coordinate onboarding assignments and training sessions Compile and process employee documentation and records, and keep the employee database up to date Maintain the departmental email account, responding to employee questions and complaints in a timely and professional manner Tasks related to HR not mentioned in the above responsibilities, as directed by the HR management Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations. Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills to address and resolve employee grievances and conflicts. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to analyze complex employee relations issues and recommend appropriate actions. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work effectively. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
