Job Description
Manthei Wood Products is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our growing manufacturing operation. With new equipment, machinery upgrades, and continued expansion, this role plays an important part in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems. We have opportunities available for different skill and experience levels, and responsibilities are shared across the maintenance team. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, adaptable, and able to troubleshoot problems efficiently. This is a full-time position, 40+ hours per week, with overtime opportunities available. What You'll Do Install and maintain production machinery and facility equipment Fabricate machines, components, brackets, supports, and structures to improve production processes Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during equipment downtime Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Perform basic machining duties using mills, lathes, grinders, and other equipment Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and other technical information Work with outside vendors to maintain and repair production equipment while considering cost and long-term value Diagnose equipment problems, repair or replace parts, test equipment, and make adjustments as needed Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities Safely operate hand and power tools, welders, mills, lathes, electrical meters, forklifts, material handling equipment, and other maintenance tools Assist with facility and property maintenance including grounds maintenance, drain clearing, roof repairs, de-icing, and other projects as needed Maintain clean and organized work areas Attendance is a necessary job function Follow all company safety procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations Perform other maintenance and production-related duties as needed What We're Looking For Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills Ability to identify and address potential problems before they become larger issues Ability to work efficiently, safely, and with a sense of urgency Comfortable using common hand and power tools Ability to move between different tasks and prioritize work effectively Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to give and receive constructive feedback High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance technician experience At least 2 years of fabrication experience preferred Forklift, lift truck, overhead crane, or heavy equipment experience preferred Experience maintaining and servicing industrial electrical control systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems preferred Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics preferred Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50+ pounds
