Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, this confidential position plays an important role in supporting employees and ensuring the effective administration of employee benefits, absence management, workers' compensation, payroll, personnel processes, and regulatory compliance. The HR Benefits Specialist serves as a trusted resource to employees, school sites, and District departments. Key responsibilities include administering the District's health and welfare benefits programs; managing employee absences and workers' compensation claims; supporting payroll processes and reconciliation; processing personnel and payroll changes; maintaining accurate employee records; interpreting and applying salary, leave, benefit, and payroll provisions; and coordinating assigned HR and payroll projects. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information. The position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and apply District policies, collective bargaining agreements, payroll procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, identify and resolve discrepancies, and provide timely, accurate, and solutions-focused support to employees and District staff.
