We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Coordinator to join our team and support a small operation warehouse team in Gilroy CA. This position is responsible for the administration of the company health benefit plans, Worker's Compensation program, and Leave of Absences, and Recruiting. The position also provides support to managers with general employee relations issues under the guidance of the Sr. Director, Human Resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of human resources practices.
Duties:
Coordinates the recruitment processes, including applicant tracking, interviews, and reference checks for non-exempt positions. We hire temporary employees during busy floral season. Conducts new hire onboarding and training, including I-9's and E-Verify. Assists on the administration of benefits plans, including open enrollment, and invoice reconciliation. Oversees the administration of leaves of absence. Supports supervisors with the administration of the attendance policy and procedures. Maintain and update employee records within HR systems such as HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platforms like ADP and other platforms Facilitate performance management processes by coordinating evaluations and supporting employee development initiatives. Ensure compliance with employment law regulations such as FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and other relevant legal requirements. Assists managers regarding performance issues and the uniform implementation of the disciplinary process. Coordinates and tracks employee training programs including but not limited to harassment and workplace violence prevention training. Handles and/or prepares correspondence as requested including EDD claims, employment verifications, etc. Coordinates company events like monthly birthday celebration, annual company picnic, etc. Runs errands for HR and Operations. Participates in Health and Safety Program including coordination of onsite flu shot clinic. Orders office supplies as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources or related education/experience required. Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of employment & labor law, HR legal compliance standards, and regulatory requirements. Ability to work overtime and weekends during high floral seasons. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to act independently. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. Ability to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Reliable transportation.
