Working under the supervision of the Program Supervisor or Manager, the Workforce Coordinator provides integrated workforce services to job seekers and businesses. This position serves as a point of contact in the Job Center, supporting customer flow, initial assessments, testing, and employment services while also assisting with workshops, training activities, and light program support functions. The Workforce Coordinator helps job seekers obtain employment by providing career guidance, basic skills support, job search assistance, and referrals to WIOA training and supportive services. The position also supports and assists with the facilitation of workshops, orientations, and workforce readiness trainings. Limited assistance with program documentation, enrollment processes, and case management support may be required. Other job center functions to achieve goals established by organization funders and annual budgets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Workforce Coordinator supports daily Job Center operations by assisting job seekers, employers, and program staff. This role emphasizes front-line employment services, workshop support, and light program assistance to help customers move successfully toward employment and training goals. Duties of the position may include Manage initial contact with customers and clients visiting the AJCC; assist with the client registration process and provide initial customer assessments to determine service needs and appropriate referrals. Provide direct assistance to job seekers with job search activities, resume and cover letter development, online applications, labor market research, and connections to employment opportunities and training resources. Participate in job development and job placement support activities; assist in assessing job seeker needs; support eligibility screening and documentation processes for adults and youth participating in job training and education programs; assist program staff with employment plan activities and coordination of basic, remedial, and job preparation services; make effective referrals to community, employment, training, and support services/programs; lead the planning, facilitation, and delivery of workforce readiness workshops, orientations, and group presentations; update existing workshop content and develop new workshops as needed to meet job seeker and employer needs; represent the organization at meetings and report on activities as assigned; schedule and coordinate workshops and events; maintain excellent customer service; assist in ensuring compliance with WIOA requirements and other applicable state and federal regulations;. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of job search techniques and hiring practices, workforce development programs and government regulations, and basic instructional methods used in group or workshop settings. This position requires familiarity with business software programs including Microsoft Office and Google Drive, community resources and partner agencies, and standard record-keeping methods and database systems. The Workforce Coordinator demonstrates strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, allowing them to effectively assist job seekers, collaborate with staff and partners, and deliver clear information in both individual and group settings. Ability to provide excellent customer service to job seekers and employers is essential, along with the ability to facilitate workshops and group presentations. The position requires strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments, maintain accurate records, and prepare clear and concise reports. The Workforce Coordinator must be able to develop professional relationships, operate computers and database systems, use the Internet and email effectively, work independently, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and learn and apply established policies, procedures, and complex regulations. If the incumbent drives a personal vehicle while performing required duties, automobile insurance with approved levels of bodily injury and property damage must be maintained.
