Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, certified Human Resources Coordinator with strong project management experience to join our team and lead in field-related HR compliance and timekeeping. This role is ideal for someone who knows California HR standards and laws (including prevailing wage) and isn't afraid to hold employees accountable to policies. You'll play a key role in making sure our field team follows clock-in/out procedures, takes compliant meal breaks, and adheres to safety and labor laws throughout the Bay Area.
Responsibilities:
Monitor timekeeping and verify employees are clocking in/out at correct job sites (using Work Force's GPS). Enforce proper meal and rest break compliance per California labor laws. Track and manage employee attendance, absences, and violations. Oversee onboarding processes and ensure required trainings are completed. Be a point of contact for HR-related questions from both field and office staff. Help develop clear internal policies and ensure they are being followed. Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes. Ensure and maintain all required HR and safety documents are up to date (e.g., I-9s, W-4s, OSHA trainings & 300 Logs, certifications, NDAs, Benefits packages, etc.). Maintain Certificates of Insurance and Business License Renewals.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum ~ 2 years of experience in Human Resources. Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent), or equivalent experience in a trades-based HR role Familiarity with California labor law, wage and hour rules, and safety compliance Experience with HR processes in a construction or field-service environment is a strong plus. Excellent communication, follow-through, organization and documentation skills. Confidence in holding employees accountable in a firm but professional manner Comfortable working with time-tracking systems and digital platforms (Work Force, QuickBooks Time, QuickBooks online, etc.) Why Join Us?
