Job Description

We are looking for an organized Human Resources Assistant to support daily HR operations in San Luis Obispo, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with at least 1 year of experience who enjoys coordinating employee processes, maintaining accurate records, and delivering dependable administrative support. The role will contribute to onboarding activities, HR systems administration, and employee-facing assistance while helping ensure HR procedures are handled efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate onboarding tasks for new hires, including preparing documentation, tracking required forms, and supporting a smooth start-to-employment process.
  • Maintain and update employee information within HR information systems to help ensure records remain accurate, complete, and current.
  • Assist with background screening activities by initiating checks, monitoring progress, and following up on outstanding items as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for day-to-day HR operations, including document management, file organization, and response to routine employee inquiries.
  • Support employee relations efforts by helping route questions, documenting concerns, and assisting the HR team with timely follow-up.
  • Help monitor HR workflows and compliance-related documentation to promote consistency across hiring and personnel processes.
  • Contribute to HRIS-related activities such as data entry, report support, and record verification to improve information accuracy.
  • Partner with internal team members to ensure onboarding milestones and employment documentation are completed on schedule.
