This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work Study (FWS) and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Student employees for this position must: Be a current UF degree seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester Ability to maintain confidentiality with discretion High level of attention to detail Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism Establish an exemplary work ethic by being proactive, self motivated, and dependable Position specific responsibilities: Assist with processing time and labor and payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy Entering distributions for all newly hired employees and making changes as needed Review and reconcile departmental paylists bi-weekly ensuring appropriate payroll is calculated, recorded, and disbursed accurately for all employees Collaborate with the University Human Resource Services office, Payroll office, and other units as required to ensure accurate and timely processing and coordination of personnel and payroll transactions Receive, reconcile, and maintain leave records for all staff Communicate with staff supervisors to ensure understanding of individual employee leave use Generate reports related to human resource functions including but not limited to payroll, leave, and special compensation as needed Create and disseminate departmental communications specific to payroll functions as needed Ensure compliance with university policies, procedures, and deadlines Develop reports, handle special projects and other duties as assigned
EXPECTED SALARY
$16.00/hr
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED
Knowledge in PeopleSoft software functionality as it relates to UF Human Resource or payroll functions Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic software applications Planning and organization skills Communication skills (verbal and written) Customer service skills Interpersonal skills Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
