Job Description

Position Summary The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department of a non-profit behavioral health agency. This role assists with employee records management, benefits administration, compliance tracking, and general HR support. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to maintain confidentiality while supporting a mission-driven workforce serving individuals with behavioral health needs. Position Expectation In keeping with the mission and core values of Tri-County Human Services, all persons served, stakeholders, and fellow employees will be treated with dignity , respect, and shown sensitivity to their cultural diversity. Referenced by policy numbers 100.000, 100.000A, and 100.004. Human Resources Administration Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records. Process the company evaluations and provide reporting to Leadership as requested. Assist with data entry and updates in the current HRI system. Track required licenses, certifications, and training data for agency staff. Coordinate the annual benefits enrollment session. Coordinate the monthly In-Service training meetings, to include recording attendance and issuing of applicable certificates and awarded CEU's. Oversee the HR Training room calendar. Respond to routine employee inquiries and direct more complex issues to HR leadership. Recruitment & Hiring Support Conduct employment reference verifications. Support employee onboarding and orientation processes as needed. Maintain job descriptions for accuracy. Compliance & Recordkeeping Assist with maintaining compliance related to credentialing, and accreditation standards. Support audits and reporting requirements as needed. Maintain confidentiality of employee and agency information at all times. Administrative Support Manage HR email inbox, phone calls, filing. Prepare correspondence for exiting staff. Process employment verifications. Support special HR projects and other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or the equivalent of 2 years of experience in the Human Resource field. Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or non-profit settings is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Understanding basic HR principles and employment practices. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR/payroll systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
