About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented, people-focused HR professional to support the day-to-day employee experience and business operations of a senior living community. Working closely with the Executive Director, this role oversees key areas of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee records, HR compliance, employee relations, and payroll. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, highly confidential, and comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with meaningful interaction and support for employees. What You'll Do Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, applicant tracking, interviews, and recruiting records. Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and new hire onboarding. Conduct new hire HR meetings and assist with orientation and employee communications. Maintain accurate personnel records, I-9 documentation, employee data, and HRIS information. Administer employee benefits, including eligibility, enrollment, open enrollment, and employee education. Maintain required federal, state, and local employment postings and compliance records. Coordinate workers' compensation, OSHA, unemployment claims, and employment-related reporting. Support employee leave programs, including
FMLA, ADA
accommodations, and Workers' Compensation. Provide guidance and excellent customer service to employees regarding HR policies, benefits, pay, deductions, and wage statements. Assist leadership with employee relations, including hiring, promotions, coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and business information. Process payroll accurately, including reviewing hours, correcting errors, processing adjustments, and balancing payroll. Prepare HR correspondence, employment offers, and employee communications. Coordinate employee events, meetings, uniforms, and HR supplies. Stay current on employment laws, HR practices, and industry requirements. Promote a safe workplace and support safety and injury management processes. Perform other duties as assigned or needed. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3+ years of general HR experience required. Bilingual English and Spanish strongly encouraged. HR experience in senior living, healthcare, or a related industry preferred. Strong knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, and compliance. Experience with payroll processing and HRIS systems. Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
