This role involves supporting agency-wide projects to remediate accessibility issues in static documents such as PDFs, Word Documents, and PowerPoint Presentations. Document Accessibility Technician:
Assist in remediating accessibility issues across various document formats to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. Receive on-the-job training and guidance from a project supervisor to develop skills in document remediation. Use specialized software to identify and correct accessibility problems, including structure, tags, headings, and other elements. Coordinate with the web team for document uploads and updates, ensuring accessibility standards are maintained. Manage a high volume of documents while maintaining accuracy and meeting productivity expectations. Requirements for the
Document Accessibility Technician:
General knowledge of computers, software applications, file management, and common office technology. Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications and technical processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors or inconsistencies. Ability to follow written procedures and step-by-step technical instructions.
