The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support for the City's human resources functions, helping ensure efficient and professional personnel operations. This position assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and employee engagement activities while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities — Candidate will assist with the following tasks: Posting job vacancies and coordinating recruitment activities. Schedule interviews and communicate with applicants throughout the hiring process. Prepare onboarding materials and assist with new employee orientation. Maintain confidential personnel files and employee records. Enter and update employee information in HR databases and tracking systems. Assist employees with general human resources and benefits-related questions. Prepare correspondence, reports, and employment documentation. Support employee training, wellness, recognition, and engagement programs. Ensure compliance with city policies and applicable employment regulations. Provide general administrative support, including filing, scanning, records management, and data entry. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Three (3) years of administrative, customer service, or human resources experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Special Requirements Knowledge of basic human resources principles and practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively with employees, supervisors, and the public.
