Human Resources Assistant Progress - 3.3 Des Moines, IA Job Details Full-time From $18 an hour 10 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Computer operation Confidential information handling Computer literacy Filing Mail distribution Performing background checks Computer skills Associate's degree Full Job Description Wage depends on experience This position is primarily based in Newton, IA (approximately 60%), with regular travel to Des Moines office two day per week (approximately 40%).
BASIC FUNCTION
This position will include, but is not limited to, responsibilities such as recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding for both Polk and Jasper counties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - HUMAN RESOURCES
Approximately 75% of this position's responsibilities are focused on recruiting and talent Acquistion (interviewing, hiring, onboarding, background checks, career fairs, etc.), with the remainder dedicated to general HR administration and employee relations. Recruit, interview, screen and perform background checks. Participate in career fairs & partner with colleges for recruitment. Process new employee information. Maintain and audit agency personnel files and monitor corrections. Attend and participate in team meetings. Send intial COBRA notifications to qualified employees upon ineligibility to the plan. Order and keep inventory of Polk supplies (office, bathroom, kitchen, snacks). Perform office tasks, including being at the office Mon-Thursday from 8am-5:00 pm, and Friday 8am-12pm. Handling in-coming and out-going mail. Other duties assigned.
Minimum Requirement:
Associates Degree preferred Recruiting experience required. Must maintain high levels of confidentiality. Must have adequate computer skills to complete job duties.
