Job Description

Hamilton Memorial Hospital District is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Human Resources Assistant to join our Human Resources team. This position plays an essential role in supporting HR operations by maintaining employee records, processing personnel transactions, assisting with payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with employment documentation and reporting requirements. As the Human Resources Assistant, you will: Maintain confidential employee personnel files and electronic HR records. Process new hire, employment status, payroll, and benefit transactions within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Support onboarding by processing employment documentation and maintaining employee records. Assist with payroll documentation and coordinate personnel transactions with Payroll. Process employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. Maintain employment eligibility (I-9) documentation and required personnel records. Prepare monthly HR, benefit, and regulatory reports. Assist employees with routine HR paperwork and administrative questions. Provide administrative support for HR projects, meetings, correspondence, and departmental activities. Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and hospital recordkeeping requirements.
The ideal candidate is:
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Able to maintain strict confidentiality. Comfortable working with data and computer systems. Skilled at managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. Professional and customer-service focused when interacting with employees. Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Qualifications:
Required High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience in Human Resources, payroll, benefits administration, healthcare, or an administrative office setting. Experience with HRIS systems and electronic document management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Shift:
8-hour shifts, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday Pay:
$15.30 - $22.03 per hour
