Job Description
The HR Department Assistant is responsible for providing overall HR departmental support. Temporary positions are not eligible for benefits.
Responsibilities:

Commitment to a diverse culture and appreciation for all people. Communications- Meet and greet all customers to the HR office and ensure timely response of inquiries
- Provide exceptional level of customer service to both internal/external customers
- Distribute and send mailings
- Create employee files and maintain a complex filing system for confidential employee files and records
- When needed, assist HR Generalist in forwarding e-mails to appropriate HR representative for response
- Answer HR phone calls and route to the appropriate person or department Data/Performance Management
- On occasion, assist in verifying, entering, and maintaining employee data in the computerized database.
- Audit all terminated files, I9's, and background check forms per Retention Record Policy.
- Maintain changes to the on-line directory and outlook address book for department, name, title, or other significant changes.
- Scan and upload transcripts and other needed documentation to Banner. Onboarding Activities
- Send State of IL W4s for processing new employees as required by the State. Other
- Book and schedule rooms for meetings and trainings. Order food and equipment for meetings as needed.
- Maintain / report office supply inventory needs to Sr. HR Generalist, Contract Specialist
- Other clerical duties as assigned
