About the
Role :
This position supports daily production and administrative operations by managing payroll and labor tracking, employee scheduling, attendance monitoring, and UKG timekeeping functions. Responsibilities include coordinating communication between employees and management, assisting with onboarding and policy guidance, maintaining training and operational records, organizing preventative maintenance schedules, and supporting staffing and business review processes. The role also oversees documentation control, supply and inventory tracking, furnace and process records, and temporary employee coordination while ensuring accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and union agreements. Qualifications ( R equired & P referred):Education:
High School or equivalent (R); BS/BA (P)Experience:
Five years working in a manufacturing environment (R); Tubular processing experience (P).Areas of Knowledge:
Safety (R), Hastelloy and Titanium processing operations (P), problem solving techniques (R), Shop Floor Reporting (P), ISO requirements (P), Statistical Process Control (P) Lean Principles (P).Skills:
Supervision (P), computer literate, organization, accuracy, and communication (R) Rol eResponsibilities :
Planning:
Maintain accurate daily shopfloor labor tracking by ensuring all shop floor hours align with UKG time records. Prepare month-end labor and payroll information for accounting review to support timely reporting.Communications:
Communicate regularly with supervisors, employees, and managers regarding attendance, UKG issues, and other employee-related concerns to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. Provide updates to management regarding scheduling concerns, payroll discrepancies, and employee availability.Leading:
Support supervisors and hourly employees by assisting with payroll, attendance, scheduling, and employee-related concerns. Help guide new employees through orientation by reviewing our vacation policy, bereavement policy, flex policy, attendance expectations, shopfloor reporting procedures, proper clock-in/clock-out procedures, etc.Organizing:
Organize and issue all weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventative maintenance schedules. Maintain and organize employee training records, production office employee files, temporary employee timecards, and furnace load documentation to ensure records remain accurate and current.Personnel Administration:
Administer UKG timekeeping functions for all hourly employees, excluding maintenance and tooling. Maintain employee schedules, monitor attendance points, ensure proper holiday and upgrade pay, verify correct labor coding, and complete permanent payroll change notices as required.Process Control:
Monitor and maintain furnace load records and Vac Furnace Efficiency spreadsheets to track annealing performance and support certification requirements. Provide required documentation to the Quality Department and communicate any furnace load concerns or irregularities to Finishing Manager for corrective action.Supplies and Inventory Control:
Requisition, inventory, and monitor shop floor and safety supplies while maintaining budget awareness. Track supply usage by department and investigate excessive or unusual consumption of items such as rubber boots, impacts, die grinders, and other tools or consumables to support cost control efforts.Scheduling and Time-Off Coordination:
Track employee vacations, requested days off, and scheduled weekends off in accordance with the Union agreement. Obtain managers approval as required, maintain scheduling spreadsheets, and assist managers in preparing weekend work schedules to ensure proper staffing coverage.Business Review Support:
Gather required information and update the spreadsheet used for Weekly Business Review meetings to support operational reporting and management discussions. Keep records accurate and readily available for leadership review.Temporary Employee Coordination:
Maintain and organize temporary employee timecards daily and submit weekly hours to staffing agencies to ensure accurate payroll processing and proper recordkeeping.Documentation Control:
Ensure all employee-related documentation, including training records, annual reviews, and other departmental records, are properly filed and maintained within production office employee folders separate from HR files.Similar jobs in Arcadia, LA
