DESCRIPTION
The College of Business Success Coach and Internship & Workforce Readiness Coordinator is responsible for promoting student engagement, retention, progression, persistence, and workforce readiness through comprehensive student support services. This position combines success coaching, academic advising support, and internship coordination to help students remain academically engaged while preparing for successful careers. Working collaboratively with faculty, academic advisors, employers, industry partners, and students, the coordinator serves as a key connector between academic success, experiential learning, and workforce development by facilitating internship opportunities, supporting career readiness initiatives, and fostering meaningful partnerships that enhance student learning and professional growth. The position plays a vital role in advancing the College of Business's mission by equipping students with the academic, personal, and professional skills necessary for success in the workforce.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide integrated student support services focused on student engagement, retention, progression, persistence, and workforce readiness by developing and implementing strategies that promote academic success and student achievement. Coordinate student engagement and retention initiatives, including workshops, events, outreach activities, and regular student communications while maintaining accurate records and monitoring student progress. Identify academic, personal, and institutional barriers affecting student progression and persistence, develop intervention strategies, and connect students with appropriate campus resources and support services. Serve as the College of Business Internship Coordinator by cultivating employer partnerships, coordinating internship opportunities, and preparing students through resume development, interview preparation, professional communication, and workplace readiness training. Provide individualized student success coaching by assisting students with time management, goal setting, structured study habits, accountability, and strategies that support academic and personal success. Support academic advising by assisting students with understanding degree requirements, registration planning, course sequencing, academic policies, and referrals to faculty advisors when appropriate. Serve as a liaison between the College of Business, students, faculty, Career Services, employers, and industry partners to strengthen collaboration, experiential learning opportunities, and workforce development initiatives. Conduct individual and group student check-ins, monitor student engagement and academic progress, prepare reports, and evaluate program outcomes to support continuous improvement in student success initiatives. Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, English, Sociology, Psychology, Education, Interdisciplinary Studies, or a related field. Equivalent coursework in Business Education, Computer Information Systems, or other closely related disciplines may also be considered. One (1) year of professional experience in student services, academic advising, career services, workforce development, internship coordination, higher education, or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related graduate degree from an accredited college or university. Experience in academic advising, student success coaching, career services, internship coordination, workforce development, or a closely related area in higher education. Experience planning and coordinating student engagement activities, workshops, events, employer outreach, internship programs, or workforce readiness initiatives. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, students, employers, community organizations, and industry partners to support student success and career readiness.
