Unclassified - Administrative/Staff (Grant Funded)Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instruction Duties o Assigns lessons to students and corrects homework; administers tests to evaluate achievement of students in technical knowledge and practical skills o Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques, such as lectures, discussions, or demonstrations o Ensures use of classroom time is organized and that instruction and clean-up (if applicable) can be accomplished within allotted time o Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; responds to basic student questions; may initiate study groups in preparation for examinations o Enforces classroom protocols, rules and regulations; maintains classroom discipline; utilizes effective classroom management techniques • Responsible for Workforce Development Allied Health programs o Program and course creation and training o Creation and delivery of customized training for industry partners o Oversees adjuncts within the workforce development group o Maintaining student records • Assist the Director of Workforce Operations with responsibilities within program areas.
Required Education:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Unencumbered License for the State of Louisiana
- Experience in long-term care and a minimum of one year in Med Surg
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse academic, staff and student populations as well as external constituents.
- Commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college preparing to meet the needs of the 21st century.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytic, problem solving, decision making, organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years of progressive responsibility in instruction and short-term training
- Three years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Experience following federal and state legislation, guidelines, and regulations
- Evidence of strong and demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
- Experience working with diverse populations, perspectives, and abilities
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain working relationships with students, parents, staff, faculty, and administrators
- Demonstrated presentation skills for external audiences
- Masters of Science in Nursing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls.
- Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 pounds.
- Must be capable of standing at least 50% of the time
- Must be able to perform all clinical rotation duties
