$64,454.31 - $67,717.31 STATEMENTOF DUTIES
The Employee Services Staff Associate manages the onboarding process for all full-time and part-time employees, ensuring compliance with I-9, background checks, CORI/SORI, and credential requirements. The role maintains accurate and confidential employee records across state and college systems, coordinates onboarding timelines and new hire orientations, and serves as a subject matter expert for onboarding and compliance. The Staff Associate supports departmental leadership, processes personnel action forms, and promotes professionalism, equity, and inclusive best practices aligned with Bristol's core values and the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal oversite.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle onboarding for all full-time and part-time employees, including but not limited to, I9 management, CORI/SORI process, background checks, collection of required licenses, educational credentials and enrollment forms for mandatory state retirement programs. Operate within various state and college systems to ensure confidential employee information is accurately and appropriately documented for new hires within a timely manner. Create and maintain new and existing employee files to ensure all necessary information is documented in a physical and/or electronic database. Manage, develop and host, in collaboration with Employee Development, new hire orientations for all new faculty and staff. Serve as the subject matter expert for the onboarding of new employees and related compliance matters. Create, implement and maintain standard operating procedures related to onboarding. Coordinate with Talent Acquisition to establish appropriate timelines for employee onboarding and start date. Assist in creating and refining SOPs, policies, checklists, and practices that support effective recruitment, retention, and advancement of a diverse workforce. Process and manage Personnel Action Forms in a timely manner. Provide support as necessary to the Assistant Director of Employee Services and other members of the team and act as a backup in their absence as needed. Successfully organize and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet time-sensitive deadlines. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community. Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions. Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a professional office environment. • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications. Strong experience in - and aptitude for - navigating complex database systems. The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff and a commitment to equity practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and work independently as required. Reliable transportation for in-person work.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) to three (3) years of demonstrated employee onboarding experience and/or experience working in a Human Resources environment. Demonstrated experience within a higher education environment, preferably within a Massachusetts state college or university. Demonstrated experience using computer software applications applicable to a higher education environment, such as but not limited to Banner, Argos, Interview Exchange, or HR/CMS. Understanding of and commitment to the goals and values of a community college. Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English.Additional Information:
