Summary The Town of Shrewsbury, a full-service local government driven by high performance and creativity, is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to play a pivotal role in our HR Team. The successful candidate will join an excellence-driven team consisting of the Human Resources Manager, Assistant Human Resources Manager, and Human Resources Coordinator. What You'll Do:
Assist employees with enrolling in benefits during hire, open enrollment, and qualifying life events. Prepare, maintain, and reconcile insurance records, enter data for payroll deductions, coordinate deposits for over-the-counter payments, and pay monthly premiums through Accounts Payable. Provide information to employees and retirees over the phone, email, and in person Assist the HR team with other projects and tasks as needed
What You'll Bring:
An Associate's degree and two years of experience in employee benefits or human resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experiences Strong knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to health and life insurance Excellent attention to detail, communication, organization, and customer services skills. Prior municipal experience (especially working with MUNIS) preferred Working knowledge of accounting and payroll workplace practices Why Shrewsbury?
