Position Overview The Human Resources (HR) Intern provides an opportunity for a college student and/or an individual seeking to gain hands-on HR experience. This position provides daily support to the HR function and handles a variety of people related duties. The HR Intern will gain meaningful experience by assisting with people related projects as needed. The anticipated schedule is Monday-Wednesday/Thursday 9-5. Key Responsibilities Assists with day-to-day HR duties; under direction and guidance from Manager, Human Resources and Head of Human Resources Assists with projects, systems, compliance activities, and related people activities Works with talent acquisition including preparing and posting job advertisements, screening applications, arranging and conducting interviews, and sending offer paperwork Utilizes current HR/Payroll systems to enter employee transactions and updates Communicates via phone, email and written documentation; responds to employees requests Scans/uploads all employee documents and manage employee files Maintains confidentiality of employee records and protected information Skills and Attributes Desire to learn the Human Resources function Flexibility to grow with the position and adapt to changes Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of employees Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong organizational, time management and multitasking abilities Experience and Qualifications Human Resources exposure preferred or certificate program, or Associate/Bachelor degree Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint experience is required) Possess a strong work-ethic, detailed oriented, analytical, organized, and able to efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment Working Conditions/Physical & Mental Demands The physical demands and working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
