Towson University, a Division I member of the Coastal Athletic Association, is accepting applications for an Assistant Softball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. This position, under the direction of the head coach, teaches and provides instruction in the sport of softball and assists in the planning, promotion, and administration of a quality Division I softball program. Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities for the Assistant Softball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following: Provides skill instruction for student athletes, including independent planning and implementation of a season-long plan for a set group of athletes Participates in all aspects of practice instruction and game coaching Under the direction of the head coach, recruits and evaluates prospective student-athletes; organizes official visits, including assigning hosts, creating travel itineraries and managing all budgetary elements of visits while adhering to all NCAA regulations; tracks all admissions through the application process of our prospective student-athletes; and provides instruction to student-athlete hosts on department/NCAA policies & procedures for a visit Assists with academic support, fundraising activities, and community servicing including communication and outreach to alumni Coordinates with Total Tiger Program Director to track and maintain accurate records of all student-athlete participation in Total Tiger programs Assists in all team operations including travel, bus, hotel, and restaurant plans Maintains video system Assists in creating scouting reports Maintains knowledge and adherence to NCAA rules, including completing monthly logs and summaries in correspondence with the Compliance Office Performs other duties as assigned The work hours for this position include nights and weekends, as required by the athletics schedule. Travel is required.
Qualifications and Skills Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree One year of successful softball coaching experience at the camp/clinic, high school, or collegiate level Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules Excellent communication skillsPreferred Qualification:
Softball coaching experience at the Division I level Salary and Benefits Targeted hiring range is $56,500 - $59,500 and University benefits that include up to 17 holidays, and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and Please submit a resume with your application.
