Job Description
Description We are looking for an Office Administrator and Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to support key people operations for a wholesale distribution organization in Jackson, Michigan. This Contract-To-Permanent role focuses on front office support and delivering efficient HR administrative support across employee records, compliance activities, and payroll-related coordination. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information. M-F 7:00AM - 4:00PM Must be willing to work at both Jackson and Ypsilanti location (primarily Jackson).
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS and payroll systems while ensuring records are current and well organized.
- Assist with benefits and payroll-related tasks, including 401(k) administration and routine employee updates.
- Help manage compliance-related documentation for unemployment claims, workers' compensation matters, and other HR records.
- Provide front office and reception support as needed, including greeting visitors and directing communications appropriately.
- Partner with internal teams to monitor HR processes and support operational updates when required. Requirements
- Working knowledge of background checks, employee documentation, and HR compliance practices.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and payroll systems used for employee recordkeeping and transactions.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and multitasking skills in an office environment.
- Experience assisting with benefits coordination, including retirement plan administration.
- Understanding of unemployment and workers' compensation processes is required.
