The Human Resources Coordinator supports our growing team by delivering collaborative, detail-oriented assistance across core HR functions, including payroll, benefits, and compliance. What would my responsibilities include?
Payroll Processing:
Collect, verify, and process payroll data, ensuring accurate timekeeping, tax withholdings, and wage adjustments.
Benefits & COBRA Administration:
Coordinate daily benefits operations, execute open enrollment, reconcile monthly invoices, and ensure timely processing of COBRA notices.
Leave of Absences:
Collaborate with our leave of absence vendor to manage leaves of absence (FMLA, disability, state leaves).
Workers' Compensation:
Coordinate prompt reporting and claims tracking for workers' compensation.
Talent Acquisition Support and Pre-Employment Screening:
Post employment opportunities across recruiting platforms, manage candidate flow, assist with interview scheduling, and initiate and track candidate pre-employment screenings
Onboarding & Orientation:
Conduct new-hire orientations, complete I-9 verifications, and coordinate a seamless onboarding workflow for incoming staff.
HRIS & Records Maintenance:
Maintain accurate employee files and records, ensuring strict data privacy and retention compliance.
Compliance, Audits & Annual Reporting:
Stay current on federal, state, and local labor laws; conduct routine file/I-9 audits; and assist with required annual reporting (e.g., OSHA 300 logs, ACA reporting).

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical HR experience). 1-3 years of hands-on experience preferred in human resources, or payroll processing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required and prior experience operating an HRIS/payroll system preferred. Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk, operating a computer, monitor, and phone (typically 75%+ of the day). Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers for keyboarding, data entry, sorting physical files, and operating standard office equipment. Occasional movement across office facilities to file records, distribute mail/materials, conduct new-hire building tours, or set up meeting rooms. Ability to occasionally lift and transport materials weighing 10 pounds regularly, 20 pounds occasionally. Ability to clearly exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, and via email with applicants, employees, and external vendors.
