Associate degree preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities Public school experience preferred Proficient in using basic computer software (Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Google Docs, PowerPoint, email, etc.) Proficient in using office equipment (multi-line switchboard, printer, scanner, fax machine, etc.) Communicate effectively (written and verbal)
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for onboarding all newly hired classified School Support Staff Serve as a single point of contact for all classified School Support Staff Create and maintain personnel files for all classified School Support Staff Keep abreast of classified School Support Staff vacancies and school needs at all times (except Child & Nutrition) Assist classified School Support Staff with questions regarding retirement and service credit Assist classified School Support Staff with retirement paperwork and coordinates with payroll Assist classified School Support Staff with leaves of absence, FMLA, PPL and disability Assist classified School Support Staff with questions regarding State Health Plan and COBRA Serve as notary for Human Resources Assist with posting CEU credits for classified School Support Staff as needed Provide employment verification for classified School Support Staff Process workers' compensation claims and files Form 19 with insurance provider for School Support Staff Coordinate with HR Specialist and Classified Specialist for Operations Staff to prepare and submit annual OSHA report and annual NC Department of Labor survey Serve as contact along with the HR Specialist and Classified Specialist for Operations Staff for state and local workers' compensation carriers Coordinate with other HR staff to ensure coverage of the HR office at all times Provides various LINQ reports, lists and statistical data as requested by supervisor Ensure that all documents for School Support Staff are scanned and filed in a timely manner and all data is entered into the LINQ system in a timely manner Serve as backup to collect, open and distribute Human Resources mail Assist with recruitment and retention efforts Keep HR Assistant Superintendent abreast of any employee issues Attend staff development/meetings as needed to stay informed Maintain an attitude of service, assistance and support for employees and guests at all times whether in person or via email or phone Exercise confidentiality concerning personnel matters Ensure that confidential information is secure at all times Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Physical and Cognitive Requirements:
The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to this job classification within Moore County Schools. Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.
Must be able to:
