HR Assistant - Temp-to-Hire $22.00-$24.00 per hour | Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | Overtime Eligible About the Opportunity We are seeking a motivated, highly organized HR Assistant to join a busy and growing Human Resources team in a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys getting things done, juggling multiple priorities, helping people, and taking ownership of their work . The position will begin as a temporary assignment with the potential to become a permanent position after approximately 90 days based on performance. The immediate need is driven by significant organizational growth, acquisitions, employee initiatives, and a very active period for the Human Resources department. The successful candidate will provide hands-on administrative support across a wide variety of HR projects and day-to-day activities. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get their foot in the door with a growing HR organization and build their career over time . Depending on performance, initiative, and career interests, there may be opportunities to grow into more advanced HR responsibilities in the future.

$22.00-$24.00 per hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00
PM Overtime:
Eligible; approximately 2-4 hours per week may be expected during busy periods

Temporary with potential for permanent employment after approximately 90 days What You'll Do This is a highly administrative HR support role, so you should be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and handling whatever needs to get done.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Organizing, sorting, scanning, uploading, and maintaining employee and personnel documentation
  • Supporting HR activities associated with company acquisitions and employee transitions
  • Pulling employee information and reports from the HRIS
  • Working with employee lists and Excel spreadsheets to organize, manipulate, verify, and maintain accurate information
  • Preparing and distributing employee communications
  • Assisting with mail merges, letters, forms, and other HR correspondence
  • Maintaining accurate personnel records and administrative files
  • Making phone calls and following up with employees, managers, and other contacts as needed
  • Assisting with employee appreciation events, recognition programs, gifts, prizes, communications, and other company initiatives
  • Creating or assisting with employee-facing flyers, announcements, and communications
  • Supporting the HR team with projects, administrative assignments, and special initiatives
  • Helping coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Providing professional, friendly customer service to employees and managers
  • Taking ownership of assigned projects and seeing them through to completion
  • Performing other administrative and HR support duties as needed What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is proactive, confident, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a busy environment .
The ideal candidate will have:
Approximately 2-4 years of HR or related experience, however transferable experience from other industries will be considered. For example, experience as a:
  • Restaurant shift leader
  • Restaurant trainer
  • Assistant manager
  • Restaurant manager
  • Retail supervisor or manager
  • Staffing coordinator
  • Office or administrative lead
  • Customer service supervisor Are all excellent backgrounds for consideration for this position.

The important thing is that you know how to prioritize, communicate, solve problems, handle people professionally, keep things moving, and maintain your composure when several things are happening at once . Position Requirements

  • Experience working with an HRIS or other employee information system
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A willingness to handle routine administrative work while learning and taking on additional responsibilities Technology Skills Experience with the following is highly valuable:
  • HRIS systems
  • UKG or similar HR/payroll systems
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Mail merge
  • Document management
  • Canva or similar design tools Canva experience is a plus, but it is not required .
The ability to create professional employee communications, flyers, announcements, or other simple materials is helpful. Confidentiality Is Critical This position will involve access to sensitive employee and company information, including personnel records and compensation-related information. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent judgment, discretion, and absolute professionalism when handling confidential information .
