Job Description

Job Overview The Horse Shoe Farm Resort is an 85-acre boutique farm resort in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains. This spectacular property is home to The Stable Spa, Silo Cookhouse and many unique guest accommodations. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, and benefits administration. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining confidentiality. Responsibilities Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of employee information with our database and personnel files. Assist with the recruitment process including job postings, resume review, interviewing, reference checks, job offers and onboarding process. Send welcome communications and onboarding instructions to new hires. Support the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and training coordination. Assist in benefits administration including informing employees of their eligibility, enrollments, reviewing and reconciling monthly invoices and responding to employee questions. Foster strong working relationship with 3rd party benefit administrators, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all federal and state benefit regulations. Support the development of standardized HR processes and assist in building a comprehensive HR operations manual for each key role. Audit and maintain HR systems and ensure accuracy of personnel documentation. Assist with payroll coordination, timekeeping accuracy, and compliance reporting as needed Assist in answering employee inquiries regarding HR policies and benefits. Prepare routine HR reports and support internal and external audits as needed Participate in training, safety, and professional development efforts. Help complete additional administrative projects and special assignments as needed. As experience with our organization grows, additional responsibilities may be assigned. Requirements Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and active listening skills. Working knowledge of basic employment law, federal and state regulations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with computers and able to work in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Quickly able to learn and navigate third-party HR/benefits platforms. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and multi-task. Previous experience in HR or administrative roles is a plus but not a necessity. SHRM certification a plus but not a necessity. Bilingual in
