JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for administrative processes, special projects, and for providing administrative support for the primary functions within the HR department. This position requires excellent communication and follow-up skills, independent judgment, critical thinking and initiative to plan and execute functions. High attention to detail and performing as a team player is essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares letters and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, HR database, or presentation software Directs incoming HR inquiries from job applicants and employees appropriately Provides support during agency personnel audits, and follows through on any missing documentation, as required Administers employee life insurance enrollments and terminations Supports the HR staff by filing confidential records daily Assists with labor law posters' distribution Provides recruitment support as needed
  • reference checking, credentialing, job postings, and onboarding documentation.
Processes unemployment claims and hearings and provides wage verification Creates and maintains HR files, and handles confidential and sensitive information with discretion and maintains confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and procedures Facilitates reconciliation of HR AMEX statement and other billing reconciliation Assists with benefits enrollment, data entry, and HRIS information research Assists with meeting minutes, and taking notes during ER interviews, as requested Follow up on New-Hire Orientation documents and updates spreadsheet Assigns and deactivates gas pins for employees driving agency vehicles Assists with tracking of CARI checks Proofread documents as needed Responds timely to the student loan forgiveness applications and employment verification requests Maintains spreadsheet for recording the information gathered from exit interviews Assists with ordering dept. supplies and furniture as requested Act as a front desk relief staff Assists with the HR department events and activities assigned Assists with employee health benefit questions, as needed Other related duties and projects as assigned
OTHER DUTIES
Assists with departmental projects as needed (Benefits Fair, Employee Recognition events, mass mailings, internal cross-training, administrative coverage during staff's leaves, etc.) and other HR special projects as assigned.
