- What You'll Be Doing Coordinate day-to-day administration of employee medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental benefit programs Support new-hire enrollment, qualifying life event changes, benefit elections, and employee questions Serve as a point of contact for employees, insurance brokers, and carriers Help employees understand coverage, claims, deductions, and benefit-related processes Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure changes are reflected correctly in payroll Review benefit invoices, premiums, claims, and related reporting Coordinate workers' compensation claims and follow-up Administer COBRA and assist with unemployment claim documentation Prepare employee benefit communications, notices, and enrollment materials Support benefits meetings, employee education, and presentations Maintain confidential employee and medical records Assist the HR Director with broader HR administration, reporting, policies, and employee inquiries Desired Qualifications 1-2+ years of Human Resources, benefits, insurance administration, or closely related experience Experience supporting employee benefits administration strongly preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail, organization, and recordkeeping Ability to handle confidential employee and medical information Comfortable presenting information to employees or groups Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with HRIS or payroll systems preferred Bachelor's or Associate's degree and/or benefits coordination experience a plus Experience in nonprofit, education, government, Tribal organizations, or similar environment is helpful A bit about us:•A major organization in Santa Fe is looking to hire an HR Coordinator who wants to build deeper experience in employee benefits while continuing to grow across broader HR functions.
