Job Description
SMV Recruiting, LLC is actively looking for a Human Resources Assistant for a manufacturing client in the Cicero-North Syracuse, New York area. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing office experience and be comfortable handling a high volume of admin work in a fast-paced HR office. This role is heavy on administrative support such as timecards, vacation schedules, phones, visitors, and supply ordering. This role supports a team of three HR professionals, and the broader production team. Prior HR experience is a plus but not required; this is a direct hire role with a great benefits package, paying approximately $58K-$70K. Responsibilities Process and maintain employee timecards, resolving discrepancies with production supervisors as needed Track and manage vacation, PTO, and other leave schedules across departments Serve as a front-line point of contact for the HR office and answering phones, greeting visitors, and routing inquiries to the right team member Conduct initial phone screens for open positions in support of the recruiting/HR team Order and maintain office supplies and safety/PPE supplies for the facility Provide day-to-day administrative support across the HR department and to the production team Assist with data entry and recordkeeping in the company's HRIS/payroll system Support the HR Manager and HR Generalists with various projects and tasks as needed Requirements Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with frequently shifting priorities Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook and other computer programs as needed; experience with ADP is a plus, but not required Strong communication and customer service skills and comfortable interacting with employees at every level Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through Able to maintain composure and professionalism under high pressure events 5+ years' experience in manufacturing, construction, or other similar trades Prior HR experience is a plus but not required Associate's Degree preferred Additional Information Salary range: $58,000-$70,000, depending on experience
