Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant reports to the agency's administration and is directly responsible for the day-to-day human resources duties at the facility. This position would be a temporary role beginning in September 2026 and ending in February 2027. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred Associates in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with experience will be considered 1-3 years experience preferred Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to effectively prioritize conflicting demands and work autonomously Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Proficient with Google Suite Thorough knowledge of employment-related regulations and laws and HR best practices Key Responsibilities Support all general HR programs including, but not limited to, the following: Recruiting Job Posting Interviewing Reference Checks Employee Relations/Performance Management Corporate Compliance Employee Training NYS Employment Law Compliance Benefits Administration New Hire Onboarding & Orientation Time Off Record Keeping Employee Monthly Compliance Maintains accurate and complete employee personnel files Collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for job openings and guide hiring teams through the recruitment and hiring process Manage employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner, including reasonable accommodations, employee disciplinary meetings, employment terminations, and internal investigations. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
