This role focuses on building strong relationships with families, feeder schools, and community partners while managing the school's recruitment pipeline from initial inquiry through final enrollment. The Student Recruitment Coordinator serves as a key ambassador for the school and plays a critical role in increasing enrollment, strengthening community engagement, and ensuring prospective families receive clear, timely, and professional communication throughout the admissions process. This role requires a highly organized and proactive individual who can coordinate recruitment initiatives, draft communications and marketing materials, manage enrollment data, and execute outreach strategies that expand the school's visibility and reach within the community. Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Recruitment & Outreach Develop and implement strategic recruitment initiatives to attract prospective students and families Build and maintain relationships with feeder elementary schools, community organizations, youth programs, faith-based institutions, and neighborhood partners Establish and maintain a consistent presence in the community to build awareness of the school and its programs Represent the school at recruitment events, community fairs, and outreach opportunities Execute grassroots recruitment strategies including neighborhood canvassing, community tabling, and outreach in high-traffic community locations Conduct presentations and informational sessions for community groups and partner organizations Serve as a visible and professional representative of the school within the community Conduct regular in-person and outdoor community outreach to engage prospective families and increase visibility of the school Enrollment Management Manage the full student inquiry, application, and enrollment process Maintain and monitor the prospective student pipeline, tracking stages including inquiry, tour, application, acceptance, and enrollment Ensure prospective families receive timely follow-up and support throughout the admissions process Track enrollment targets and ensure progress toward meeting enrollment goals Maintain accurate enrollment records and prospective student databases Coordinate with operations staff to ensure all enrollment documentation and registration requirements are completed Support enrollment processes in compliance with charter school regulations, lottery procedures, and SUNY Charter Schools Institute requirements Family Engagement Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective families during the recruitment and enrollment process Provide engaging information sessions and school tours that clearly communicate the school's mission, academic program, expectations, and opportunities for scholars Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from families regarding admissions, programs, and enrollment procedures Guide families through the application, acceptance, and registration process Maintain positive and professional relationships with prospective and newly enrolled families Support family engagement efforts that strengthen trust and confidence in the school Conduct professional phone outreach to prospective families to answer questions, schedule school tours, and support completion of the application process Maintain consistent phone follow-ups with prospective families to guide them through enrollment requirements and deadlines Recruitment Events & Marketing Support Plan and coordinate recruitment events including open houses, information sessions, school tours, and community presentations Draft and produce recruitment materials including flyers, advertisements, social media graphics, event invitations, and written communications Create and distribute outreach materials that promote the school's mission, programs, and enrollment opportunities Support recruitment-related communications across social media platforms, the school website, and community channels Assist in developing clear and compelling messaging that highlights the school's academic program, culture, and student opportunities Ensure recruitment materials and communications are professional, consistent, and aligned with the school's brand and values Draft and send professional email communications to prospective families, community partners, and event participants Maintain organized and timely written communication with prospective families regarding enrollment updates, event reminders, and application requirements Data Tracking & Reporting Maintain accurate records of prospective students, applications, and enrollment data Track recruitment metrics including inquiries, tours, applications, accepted students, and enrolled students Monitor recruitment progress toward enrollment goals Analyze recruitment data to identify which outreach strategies are most effective Provide regular updates and reports to school leadership regarding recruitment efforts and enrollment pipeline status Use recruitment data to strengthen outreach strategies and improve enrollment outcomes Collaboration Work closely with school leadership, operations staff, and teachers to support recruitment and enrollment efforts Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure smooth onboarding for newly enrolled students Support school-wide initiatives that strengthen family engagement and community visibility Assist with re-enrollment campaigns for returning students Support initiatives that strengthen student retention and maintain stable enrollment Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred Bilingual strongly preferred Experience in student recruitment, admissions, community outreach, marketing, or related work Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to engage diverse communities and families Strong organizational and data tracking skills Ability to draft written communications and recruitment materials Experience creating outreach materials, flyers, or digital communications preferred Experience working in schools or educational settings preferred Strong professional communication skills, including in-person engagement, phone outreach, and professional email correspondence Work Schedule Full-time position. Some evening and weekend hours may be required to support recruitment events and community outreach.
