Overview:
Otterbein Staffing Agency is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Home Health team! Experience the stability of working for an organization with more than 110 years of service caring for seniors. The Physical Therapist Assistant provides rehabilitative physical therapy treatments to home health patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This includes assisting with ambulation training, transfer training, gait training, and home exercise programs in accordance with the patient's Home Health Plan of Care. Shift:
PRN Pay:
$33-$44 per visit and weekend differentials Responsibilities Provide physical therapy services to patients according to the Home Health Plan of Care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Perform physical therapy procedures in the patient's home Administer non-complex therapeutic exercises, massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water, and electrical modalities to patients with relatively stable conditions Assist and motivate patients in improving functional mobility and independence Teach basic body mechanics to patients and families Instruct patients and family members in the proper use and care of prosthetic devices and therapeutic appliances Observe and document patient progress and response to treatment, reporting, findings and any condition changes to the supervising Physical Therapist Modify the Home Health Plan of Treatment as authorized by the physician and Physical Therapist Participate in home health care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings Communicate plan of care updates to patients and families Prepare and submit clinical documentation and progress notes in a timely manner in accordance with Otterbein Home Health policies and state/federal regulations Complete a minimum of twelve (12) hours of in-services annually
Education and Experience Education:
Graduate of Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years full-time PTA experience OR At least 2,000 hours of patient-related care experience Licensure/Certification Current Ohio license as Physical Therapist Assistant (or application in process) Valid Ohio driver's license Reliable transportation with auto insurance Satisfactory criminal background check Current CPR certification Why work for Otterbein SeniorLife?
