Job Summary Express Employment Professionals is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our clients manufacturing and production team. This position plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources department and working closely with the Human Resources Manager and HR Coordinator located in the California location. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and HRIS management while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Payroll & HR Administration Review employee timecards and correct discrepancies. Process and maintain payroll-related documentation for accuracy. Assist the Accounting Manager with payroll processing using the company's in-house payroll system. Maintain vacation schedules and payroll records. Serve as backup payroll processor in the absence of the Accounting Manager. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Coordinate recruitment activities and partner with staffing agencies regarding open positions. Post job openings on various job boards and recruitment platforms. Review resumes and schedule candidate interviews. Assist with the overall talent acquisition process. Onboarding & Employee Records Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation programs. Prepare and maintain all required new hire documentation. Maintain employee personnel files and HR records. Ensure accurate employee and temporary worker information is entered and maintained in the HRIS. Review temporary employee timesheets and submit weekly reports to staffing agencies. Benefits Administration Educate employees on available benefit programs. Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. Reconcile benefit invoices and manage COBRA administration. Ensure compliance with applicable benefit-related regulations. Compliance & Reporting Assist with preparation and submission of required reports, including: EEO-1 Reporting OSHA Reporting Workers' Compensation documentation Other labor law compliance requirements Stay current on employment laws and HR best practices. Support compliance with FMLA, OSHA, Workers' Compensation, harassment prevention, and other employment regulations. Training & Employee Relations Conduct employee training programs as required by company policy, industry standards, and labor laws. Maintain accurate training records and documentation. Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits. Assist management with employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives. HR Projects & Analytics Participate in special HR projects and process improvement initiatives. Collect and maintain HR data for reporting and analytics purposes. Support department goals and strategic initiatives. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience as an HR Coordinator, HR Generalist, or Assistant HR Manager in a manufacturing environment. Experience with payroll processing and timekeeping systems. Experience with benefits administration. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance regulations. Experience maintaining employee records and HRIS databases. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer and data entry skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Preferred Experience in the food manufacturing industry. Familiarity with Workers' Compensation, FMLA, OSHA, EEO reporting, and harassment prevention programs. Experience conducting employee training sessions. Proficiency with applicant tracking and sourcing tools. Bilingual (verbal and written) preferred.
