Job Description

Human Resources Coordinator Position Summary:
The Human Resource Coordinator will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department. The HR Coordinator should display organizational skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and payroll and benefits administration. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.âEUR¢ Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.âEUR¢ Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.âEUR¢ Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.âEUR¢ Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.âEUR¢ Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.âEUR¢ Provides clerical support to the HR department.âEUR¢ May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.âEUR¢ Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.âEUR¢ Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.âEUR¢ Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR.âEUR¢ Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.âEUR¢ Files documents into appropriate employee files.âEUR¢ Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.âEUR¢ Prepares new-employee files.âEUR¢ Processes mail.âEUR¢ Assists with processing of terminations.âEUR¢ Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. âEUR¢ Sense of urgency with the ability to multitask under pressure.âEUR¢ Comfortable with multitasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance. âEUR¢ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. âEUR¢ Time management expertise to endure tasks are completed in a timely manner throughout the day.âEUR¢ Results driven, persistent-able to self-direct and work independently showing initiative, while seeking guidance when appropriate. âEUR¢ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. âEUR¢ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. âEUR¢ Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.âEUR¢ Prior related office experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Workday experience preferred but not required. Experience working in an Human Resources office or busy office setting.
