Job Description

Overview:
The Human Resources & Payroll Assistant is a full-time, hourly position responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources and Payroll Departments. This role assists with all phases of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, payroll support, and HR compliance. The position serves as a key resource for employees and applicants while maintaining confidentiality and promoting a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities:
Assist with all staff recruitment activities. Assist with all onboarding activities including background checks, reference checks, education, and certification verification. Assist with new-employee orientation activities. Assist with the employee benefits programs. Assist with employee training programs and initiatives. Assist with biweekly payroll as needed by Director of Payroll, including assisting with staff-related questions regarding pay, overtime and benefits. Assist with the creation and implementation of updated systems to help increase efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or related experience in Human Resources/Payroll field. A collaborator who cultivates trusting relationships and works well with staff at all levels. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. Comfortable and effective working with culturally diverse groups of individuals, and able to successfully manage the dynamic and differing needs, interests, and viewpoints of multiple individuals. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lists, and SharePoint. Ability to multi-task. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement. Familiarity with job boards and applicant tracking is strongly preferred.
