Job Description
THE POSITION
As a Roadway Programs Technician 1 with the Department of Transportation, you will be part of a team that keeps projects moving in the right direction. You will assist with inventory, planning, invoices, and employee processes that help the county operate smoothly. Your efforts will help ensure that information is accurate and work flows stay on track. Be part of a mission focused on safe and reliable transportation.DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports roadway maintenance operations by tracking materials, reviewing plans, and assisting with administrative and financial tasks. It plays an important role in keeping Columbia County programs organized and ensuring accurate documentation. As a Roadway Programs Technician 1, you will perform the following duties:Inventory Monitoring:
Track usage levels, dispose of excess materials, and maintain organized recordsPlan Support:
Review work plans and assist with developing balanced schedules and resource needsInvoice Processing:
Reconcile invoices, resolve vendor issues, and complete required payment tasksEmployee Coordination:
Prepare onboarding documents, schedule interviews, and maintain personnel recordsRecord Management:
Maintain filing systems, update spreadsheets, and ensure accurate documentationPublic Assistance:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after successful completion of probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bloomsburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685 (before taxes). Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or One year as a Financial Programs Trainee; or An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
