Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to support a school-based administrative team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This Contract position plays an important role in assisting with employee onboarding, benefits coordination, student-related administrative processes, and daily office operations. The role offers a varied workload in a collaborative school environment and is ideal for someone who enjoys staying organized while providing responsive support to staff, students, and families.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the hiring and onboarding process by preparing employment documents, assisting new staff with required paperwork, and helping employees navigate benefits enrollment.
  • Maintain accurate personnel and benefits records, update employee information in HR systems, and respond to routine questions related to documentation and coverage changes.
  • Assist with administrative tasks tied to student admissions, including document handling, communication follow-up, and record organization.
  • Coordinate support for meal program administration by helping process Free and Reduced Lunch paperwork and monitoring related daily counts.
  • Track attendance and other operational data to help keep school records current and reliable.
  • Help organize transportation-related communications, including distributing information connected to bus routing and student travel needs.
  • Provide logistical support for field trips, campus events, and other scheduled school activities by coordinating details and preparing required materials.
  • Perform general office support duties such as data entry, filing, correspondence preparation, and document management across multiple departments.
  • Cross-train with current team members to ensure continuity of administrative support during staffing changes and ongoing school operations.
