Job Description

he Human Resources Intern will support assigned department operations while gaining hands-on experience in a professional corporate environment. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to departmental processes, systems, and best practices through meaningful project work, administrative support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The intern will develop foundational workplace skills, including communication, organization, problem-solving, and time management, while contributing to daily departmental objectives. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities The primary job duties and of this position include but are not limited to: Recruiting Overview Support the recruiting team by observing end-to-end recruitment processes. Review resumes and candidate materials under supervision to understand screening criteria. Assist with preparation of onboarding materials and offer documentation. Form I‑9 Overview and Audit Support Learn Form I‑9 compliance requirements and documentation standards through guided training. Assist with organizing I‑9 records and supporting internal audit preparation under supervision. Observe I‑9 audit processes to understand compliance controls and documentation accuracy. Employee Relations - Investigation Shadowing Shadow Human Resources and Employee Relations team members during employee relations investigations. Observe intake processes, documentation methods, and investigative best practices. Travel Overview Gain exposure to company travel processes, policies, and approval workflows. Assist with tracking travel-related documentation, expense submissions, and compliance requirements. Support coordination of travel arrangements for HR initiatives, training sessions, or meetings as needed. Employee Engagement Overview and Event Support Assist with planning and coordination of employee engagement activities and events. Support logistics for engagement initiatives, including communications, materials, and scheduling. Help gather feedback and participation data related to engagement programs. Collaborate with HR team members to support ongoing culture and engagement initiatives.
Receptionist / Front
Desk Operations Overview Shadow the receptionist to learn front desk operations, visitor protocols, and communication standards. Greet and direct visitors, vendors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner. Answer and route incoming phone calls appropriately, following established call-handling procedures. Additional Responsibilities Participate in HR team meetings, training sessions, and learning opportunities. Assist with HR testing processes, including coordinating and administering pre-employment drug screenings and background checks, tracking results, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Assist with special projects and administrative duties as assigned. Assist with reception coverage Adhere to all confidentiality, compliance, and company policy requirements. Minimum Qualifications Listed below are the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform this role. These qualifications are necessary for someone to be considered for this position. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program Interest in human resources, employee relations, and workplace policies. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in a team environment. Essential Physical Job Functions (with or without accommodation) Physical requirements are the ability to perform a manual data input function for up to 50% of an 8-hour day on regular basis. This position requires a focused, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work well under pressure with good organizational and project management skills.
