Job Description
NMC is currently recruiting a Human Resource Generalist. The position is full-time (80 hours bi-weekly), generally 8am - 4:30 pm with some variability between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. The HR Generalist plays a key role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies by supporting processes such as employee record management, audits, and regulatory reporting. Additionally, the Generalist serves as a primary resource for HRIS functions, maintaining data integrity, supporting system transactions, troubleshooting issues, and generating reports to inform decision-making. The Human Resources Generalist serves as the first point of contact for the Team Member Services Department, delivering responsive, high-quality support to team members and the broader organizational community. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and operational support across Human Resources, Professional and Organizational Development, and Team Member Health. Through effective coordination, attention to detail, and a strong customer service focus, the HR Generalist helps ensure efficient service delivery, supports HR initiatives, and promotes a positive and compliant employee experience.PRE-REQUISITES
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.Experience:
Previous experience in HR is preferred.Other Skills:
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel for data analysis and reporting, are required. Experience working with HRIS systems, including data entry, reporting, and data integrity management, is strongly preferred. Excellent computer, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, identify trends, and leverage insights to support decision-making and process improvements. Proficient in problem-solving with a focus on enhancing workflow efficiency and accuracy. Must perform work with a high level of precision and attention to detail while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information.Certifications:

o PPE as situation dictatesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensures HR compliance and regulatory adherence by managing employee records and monitoring licensure, certifications, and required postings. Maintains personnel files in accordance with retention and confidentiality standards and conducts regular audits to ensure accuracy and completeness. Supports compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA, HIPAA) and contributes to continuous process improvement. Coordinates and facilitates onboarding for new hires, travelers, and contracted staff to ensure a timely, compliant, and positive experience. Prepares and processes offer employment forms, policy acknowledgements, and I-9 verification Coordinates background checks, licensure verification, credentialing, and pre-employment health requirements Schedules and supports new hire orientation in collaboration with HR, Payroll, IT, Team Member Health, and Professional & Organizational Development Tracks licensure, certifications, immunizations, and assignment dates; ensures readiness for system access and badge issuance Creates, audits, and maintains onboarding and personnel files; serves as a resource to new employees throughout onboarding Supports HRIS, data tracking, and reporting functions by maintaining accurate employee data, generating reports, and tracking key HR metrics such as vacancies, turnover, FTEs, and headcount. Ensures data integrity and provides reports in accordance with release-of-information and confidentiality standards. Serves as the primary point of contact for Team Member Services, providing high-quality customer service via phone, email, and walk-in support. Triages inquiries, resolves issues, and directs individuals to appropriate resources. Processes incoming and outgoing mail. Supports Employee Health operations by scheduling appointments (pre-employment, annual requirements, workers' compensation, ergonomic evaluations), managing communications, and maintaining working knowledge of occupational health regulations. Assists with daily clinic workflow and documentation. Processes employee-related financial and benefit programs, including requests for payment, accounts payable invoices, loan forgiveness, tuition reimbursement, and certification reimbursement in accordance with organizational policies. Coordinates recognition and engagement initiatives, including tracking and documentation for programs such as High Reliability recognition. Maintains departmental operations and resources, including inventory of supplies (badges, toolkits, recognition materials) and submission of service requests (IT, maintenance, food services) to support Team Member Services functions.
