We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and hands-on HR Coordinator to support day-to-day HR functions across recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll coordination, compliance, and seasonal workforce logistics. This role is critical to ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient HR execution year-round in a fast-paced, high-volume seasonal environment. The HR Coordinator will report to and work closely with Northline's HR Manager to implement HR processes, support managers, and ensure the employee lifecycle is aligned with Northline's mission and values.

You are highly adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working in environments where priorities shift quickly. You bring strong administrative discipline and are able to operate in an environment where priorities and resources change based on season and business objectives. You know how to create order where processes are still evolving. You are someone who works well in a high-volume, fast-moving environment. You know how to create clear systems and are accurate, detail-oriented, and consistent with execution. You stay organized without heavy direction, follow through reliably, and know when to escalate or take ownership. Experience in seafood processing, fisheries, or other seasonal manufacturing or food-related industrial environments is a strong asset. Equally valuable is experience in startup or scaling environments where you've helped build or improve HR processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Staffing Support staffing needs for our Bellingham operations and Seasonal Alaska operations Create and post job advertisements for seasonal and full-time roles Screen applicants and manage initial candidate communications Schedule interviews with hiring managers Prepare offer letters using standardized templates Support high-volume seasonal recruiting initiatives, including job fairs and recruitment events Onboarding & Offboarding Manage end-to-end onboarding, including documentation, compliance forms, and employee setup Collect, verify, and maintain employee eligibility and HR records Coordinate onboarding schedules and orientation sessions Support offboarding processes, ensuring accurate documentation and record completion HR Operations & Employee Records Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant physical and digital employee files Monitor the HR inbox and triage or escalate inquiries as appropriate Support HR policy administration and documentation updates Maintain tracking systems for HR processes, compliance, and follow-ups Provide consistent administrative support to HR leadership and HR operations Employee Relations & Compliance Support documentation and tracking of employee relations matters, incidents, and follow-ups Assist with workers' compensation claims, injury reporting, and related documentation Support consistent application of company policies and HR procedures Employee Experience & Engagement Support employee engagement initiatives, events, and seasonal activities Participate in job fairs, onboarding events, and Alaska seasonal deployments Contribute to a positive and consistent employee experience across all locations and seasons General HR Support Partner with the HR Manager to support a wide range of HR and operational initiatives Perform additional duties as needed to support evolving business requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of HR, recruiting, or HR operations experience Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, seasonal environment Experience with HRIS or payroll systems (Gusto experience a plus) Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.) Strong communication and interpersonal skills
