Job Description

The People Services Specialist (PSS) conducts orientation and onboarding activities for new hire and rehire employees within their assigned customer group. In addition, the PSS manages and updates employee files to ensure they are up to date and compliant. In this role, you will report to the Director of Operations (DOO).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs some or all of the following functional areas as assigned by
DOO:
HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, and employment Assists DOO/department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees Facilitates new hire onboarding and orientation program Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports as needed/assigned Assists/performs background screening, pulling investigation reports, court records, reference checks and any other credential verifications necessary Coordinates performance review process for all employees assigned Coordinates equipment/device needs including setup and transitions to preceptor for documentation orientation Maintains the employee renewable requirements and proactively notifies employees/contractor/managers prior to expiration of HR documents Prepares or maintains employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions Coordinates with DOO on tasks pertaining to benefits and payroll Maintains strict confidentiality on patient, agency, and employee matters Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; Shares expertise with other Attains goals as agreed upon with the DOO Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
Knowledgeable of basic HR, HIPAA and regulatory requirements of the company Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Able to write routine reports and correspondence Able to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and/ or organizations Able to work with multiple teams within the organization Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Possesses excellent problem-solving techniques and abilities. Computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Device experience is a plus Knowledge of human resource best practices and processes (preferred) Strong interpersonal skills required
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
Associates Degree or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
