Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to oversee key people operations for a mission-driven organization in Concord, New Hampshire. This role supports the full employee lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding through policy administration, employee relations, and compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, organizational skill, and a practical approach to building effective HR processes while supporting a positive and respectful workplace.
Responsibilities:
HR Manager with broad, hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycleFull-cycle recruiting experience including sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, background checks, and onboardingExperience writing job descriptions and understanding exempt vs. non-exempt classificationsStrong employee relations background, including performance management, coaching managers, investigations, corrective actions, and terminationsExperience administering benefits, leave management, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and PTO trackingExposure to compensation analysis and benefits administrationHR compliance expertise with federal and state employment lawsExperience maintaining HR policies, employee handbooks, SOPs, and HR documentationStrong HRIS and employee records management experienceExperience supporting payroll processes and working with payroll vendorsAbility to manage and improve HR processes and identify HR best practicesExperience conducting performance review programs and supporting leadership teamsStrong training and development experience, including compliance training and manager coachingExperience managing vendor relationships such as benefits brokers, payroll providers, and background screening companiesComfortable tracking HR metrics, reporting, turnover analysis, and headcount reportingAbility to foster employee engagement, workplace culture, and employee recognition initiativesWhat will make someone stand out:

Experience serving as the primary HR contact for an organizationStrong employee relations and performance management expertiseExperience advising executives and department leaders on HR mattersAbility to build HR processes, policies, and infrastructure from the ground upExperience in nonprofit, legal services, professional services, or mission-driven organizationsStrong communication skills with a high level of discretion and confidentialitySelf-starter who can work independently and wear multiple hats in a small-to-midsize organization
