"America's Finest City" Senior Medical Associates seeks a psychiatrist-leader to join a quality-focused team to predominantly clinically care for an underserved population at a brand new 23 hour Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), in the El Cajon neighborhood of San Diego. SMA Psychiatry is a local multi-specialty medical group dedicated to caring for complex, underserved populations, known for great job satisfaction across nearly every level of behavioral healthcare in San Diego.ROLE:
The treatment population is adults in crisis ranging from involuntary to voluntary clients, novel neuropsychiatric presentations, chronic mental illness, substance use disorders and beyond. CSU clients are screened for those with an acuity appropriate to receive care in this freestanding setting rather than the emergency room. You will perform initial, followup and discharge services as well as supervision of a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Benefit from close collaboration with psychiatric social workers, psychiatric nurses, peer support and other specialty providers.EMR:
Smartcare Medical Director component includes leadership over our team at 3 local CSUs. This is a part time component of a predominantly-clinical role, and includes minimal after hours responsibility.EXPERIENCE
Clinical acumen in Emergency Psychiatry, Consult Liaison Psychiatry or Inpatient Psychiatry and significant psychiatry leadership role is required. An ability to work in an fast-paced and established system is essential. Must be ABPN Board Eligible. Must possess active, unrestricted California Medical & DEA licenses at time of application. No recruiters, J1 or H1B candidates.SCHEDULE
Shifts are 10 hours in duration, delivered in-person (N o T e l e p s y c h i a t r y). Currently hiring for Tuesday through Fridays.COMPENSATION
$430,000- $440,000 Malpractice insurance including tail coverage provided.
