Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Human Resources Manager to lead our HR initiatives and foster a positive, compliant, and productive workplace environment. In this role, you will oversee all facets of human resources management, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment and labor laws. Your energetic leadership will drive organizational growth through effective change management, workforce planning, and talent development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape our company culture while ensuring operational excellence across all HR functions. Responsibilities 1. Recruitment & Workforce Planning
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies for farm labor employees, including seasonal workers
  • Conduct interviews, onboarding, and orientation in both English and Spanish
  • Ensure all new hire documentation and job expectations are clearly communicated in employees' preferred language
  • Work with Management to maintain appropriate workforce levels to meet operational demands 2. Compliance & Labor Law Management
  • Ensure compliance with California labor laws, including agricultural wage and hour regulations, meal/rest breaks, and overtime requirements
  • Manage compliance with federal programs such as Farm Labor Contractor License & H-2A (if applicable)
  • Maintain employee documentation (I-9, personnel records) in compliance with regulations
  • Translate and communicate policies, procedures, and legal notices in Spanish and English 3. Employee Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with Spanish-speaking employees regarding workplace issues
  • Conduct investigations and disciplinary actions in a fair and culturally competent manner
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and culturally sensitive work environment 4. Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate timekeeping, piece-rate tracking, and wage calculations
  • Communicate pay structures and benefits clearly in both English and Spanish
  • Assist employees with questions related to wages, benefits, sick leave, and workers' compensation 5. Health, Safety & Workers' Compensation
  • Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA and agricultural safety standards
  • Deliver safety training (including heat illness prevention and field sanitation) in both English and Spanish
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and facilitate return-to-work programs 6. Training & Development
  • Develop and conduct employee and supervisor training programs in English and Spanish
  • Ensure workplace policies and procedures are fully understood by all employees
  • Support performance management and leadership development initiatives 7. Policy Development & HR Administration
  • Develop, translate, and enforce company policies and employee handbook
  • Maintain HR records and prepare reports for management
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Support General Business insurance requests Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in agriculture, farm labor contracting, or a similar labor-intensive industry
  • Strong experience with California employment law required Language Requirement
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) - REQUIRED
  • Ability to conduct meetings, trainings, and investigations in both languages
  • Ability to translate HR documents and communicate complex policies clearly to Spanish-speaking employees Skills & Competencies

  • Experience managing a diverse, multilingual, and seasonal workforce
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills

$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
