Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Human Resource Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of human resource activities including, employee relations, benefits, staffing (job approval and guidance), employee development, performance management and adherence to employment laws. Acts as a liaison and advisor to management for respective departments on all HR related including planning, facilitation, and activities.MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED
Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, leadership training and development, records management, succession planning, employee relations and retention, EEO compliance, leaves and accommodations, and labor relations. Plans, directs, and supervises the work related to these areas. Acts as a coach, strategic advisor and facilitator to management of the company. Functions as the subject matter expert to CFO in organizational reviews, learning & development, succession planning, and talent identification Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements. Stays abreast of existing and new legislation and advising management on needed action Oversees the performance management process through partnerships with management and executive staff. Coach's management on how to best communicate expectations and performance feedback on an ongoing basis. Develops performance plans to correct performance deficiencies, reviews disciplinary documentation. Consults with corporate employment attorneys and advises managers on employment related matters, including terminations Familiarity with union contracts and CBA that is applicable to the business unit. Participate in the union contract negotiation, its administration and arbitration process of the grievance procedure Provides coaching and counseling on issues related to employee relations; including providing guidance around fair and legal resolutions, preparation of corrective action documents, performance management, investigations, and terminations Designs, oversees and manages HR programs such as service awards, employee recognition, job descriptions, corporate social responsibility, and HR database/portal Works with management to motivate employees and identifies organizational performance improvements Utilizes HRIS to proactively monitor staffing, employment activity, turnover and other HR metric Supports the company's future growth and ensures employees receive training and development opportunities Analyzes data and provides strategic advice to department management relating to workforce planning and hiring Responsibility over the HR budget and staying within established spending guidelines Insures compliance with all Company policies, as well as all Federal, State and Local OSHA regulations. Compliance to all employee job safety requirements and regulations as required by company policies, including timely communication to appropriate facility management of any non-conformity issues or violations found Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field, preferably with a concentration in Human Resources; 10+ years HR experience, with at least 3 years managing HR staff; HR Certification (SPHR orSHRM-SCP
); in-depth knowledge of employment laws and governmental regulations; must be skilled in the areas of policy administration; compensation; and rewards management. Must be able to conduct data analysis relating to human resource metrics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Preferred:
Minimum qualifications plus MBA or Master's degree in Human Resources or other related field, Union labor relations experience preferredPay:
$160,000.00 - $170,000.00 per yearBenefits:
