Our cloud-native platform uses computer vision and AI to help businesses stay safe, make smarter decisions, and move faster; from real-time alerts to seamless clip sharing and multi-site visibility. You'll be joining an ambitious, fast-moving team that values clarity, craftsmanship, and impact. Every person here has a voice, ships meaningful work, and helps shape how AI can make the world safer and more connected. Coram AI is growing rapidly and is looking for a hands-on Head of People to help us scale without losing our speed, ownership, and high-performance culture. Coram operates across six offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. This leader will build the People function and operating foundation needed to support the company at more than twice its current scale. This is a full-time, five-days-a-week, in-office role based at Coram AI's headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a strong pulse on organizational health, employee sentiment, management quality, and cultural issues. Preserve Coram's culture of high velocity, ownership, candor, and high standards as the company scales. Build and own the full People Operations function, including policies, systems, tools, and processes. Own the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, promotions, employee relations, terminations, and off-boarding. Ensure employment compliance across the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. Build scalable processes for compensation, benefits, leave, documentation, investigations, and workplace policies. Partner with executives and managers on organizational design, workforce planning, team health, and difficult people decisions. Improve management quality through practical tools, coaching, and clear performance expectations. Own office management, workplace operations, facilities, and employee experience across all locations. Partner closely with Recruiting, Finance, Legal, IT, and company leadership.
Skills and qualifications:
Experience leading People or People Operations at a rapidly growing startup or scale-up. Experience supporting an organization of at least 300 employees or helping a company scale through a similar stage. Demonstrated experience building a People function, not just operating within an established one. Strong experience across People Operations, compliance, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and workplace operations. Experience operating across multiple countries, ideally including the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. Strong judgment, direct communication, and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and decisiveness. Comfortable operating strategically while remaining highly hands-on. Strong startup mindset and ability to build lightweight processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. Candidates whose experience is primarily at very large, highly structured companies are unlikely to be a fit. What We Can Offer You Reports to the Chief Executive Officer A competitive compensation with regular performance reviews Equity in a rapidly growing company The opportunity to take real ownership of your work and help shape the product Frequent team socials, dinners, and offsites The latest tech and tools to help you build your best work A sharp, mission-driven team focused on solving meaningful problems The chance to work on a product at the intersection of AI, security, and real-world impact We're on a mission to transform a $50B+ legacy industry by bringing the power of cutting-edge multimodal LLMs and computer vision to real-world security and operations. From firearm detection to intelligent access control, our AI-native platform turns every camera and sensor into a smart system that enhances safety, efficiency, and awareness. Founded by Ashesh Jain (ex-Lyft Level 5, PhD Cornell) and Peter Ondruska (ex-Lyft, PhD Oxford), Coram AI is backed by Ansa Capital, Battery Ventures, Mosaic, 8VC and Up Partners, have raised over $65M, and were named to the CB Insights AI 100 as one of the most promising AI companies in the world. If you're excited to work on mission-critical AI that makes an impact in the real world, we'd love to meet you.
